Colleagues,
Here are a few other advocacy items for your consideration:

1.  A copy of "Know Your Rights - Puyallup" is attached below.  This is Puyallup-specific.  thanks to long time advocate for homeless people Ted Brackman.  I suggest we need the same thing for each jurisdiction and the unincorporated Pierce County.

2.  The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance has webinars on legislative advocacy on their website - www.wliha.org and click on Resources and then Webinars.  These are free.

3.  I think the Pierce County Continuum of Care should meet Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Salvation Army, 12th & Union at 8:30 am.  But I don't see an agenda on their website so I'd check with Valerie Knight at Pierce County just to be sure.  vknight@co.pierce.wa.us

4.  The City of Tacoma Planning Commission is resuming the public outreach and hearings on the proposed changes to the City's Comprehensive Plan.  Al Ratcliffe sent out the City's Affordable Housing Strategy Amendments and I've also attached it below.  IF you are a housing policy wonk or a planner, you'll love it.  If you aren't, just scan for what looks interesting and ask yourself how what is proposed will enhance your work.

Here's the Planning Staff email:

For the 2019 Amendment, planning staff has planned to conduct 5 open house to engage citizens and stakeholders.  The first two scheduled for February 11 and 13 had been canceled due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled.  The remaining three are listed below.  For more information, please visit: www.cityoftacoma.org/2019Amendments.

·   Thursday, February 21, 2019, 6-8 PM, Boys and Girls Club by the STAR Center

·   Monday, February 25, 2019, 6-8 PM, Geiger Elementary School

·   Wednesday, February 27, 2019, 6-8 PM, Stewart Middle School

That's all for now - since I can actually get out of my street finally, I'm off to do some grocery shopping.

Thanks for your work,
Maureen
