Here's the update from the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance - now these bills move on to the Senate so your advocacy work is not finished.  Maureen

From the Alliance:

Good news from Olympia yesterday, as three critical housing justice bills passed in the House. 

HB 1453/Macri will give tenants extra time (more than the current 3 days!) to pay back rent before eviction proceedings can begin; 

HB 1406/Robinson will require more notice to tenants of rent increases; and HB1219/Walen will allow local jurisdictions to use the Real Estate Excise Tax they collect to invest in affordable housing. 

Thanks to all the advocates who have spoken up and shared their stories for these bills. Next - on to the Senate!
