Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Sept. 24 City of Tacoma City Council meeting, 5pm at City Hall.  The agenda includes the first reading of the ordinance to change the city code concerning behavior in Metro Parks parks.  It is our opportunity to ask the City Council to:

1.  Reject the proposed temporary shelter change

2.  If not reject then delay implementation until the City has identified safe places where every homeless person can stay both day and night

3.  Call for a Safe Shelter Task Force 

Public comment is allowed for up to three minutes on items on the agenda.  The agenda has not yet posted and I will send it out when it does.  City staff confirm that the code change will be on the 9/24 agenda.  The final reading will be Oct. 1 and the ordinance will take effect ten days later.
