Hello,
I am looking for some items to make 30 gift bags for women experiencing homelessness, Our Sisters’ House has partnered with Tacoma Rescue Mission to assist homeless women in Pierce county. We are implementing a
monthly program called women empowerment Wednesday. This program will take place every second Wednesday of the month. The goal of this program is to empower these women and guide them to become more self-sufficient and help integrate them back into the community.
We will be providing these women with fun classes such as arts and crafts, jewelry making, and how to properly do your makeup or hair. We want to give these women the tools they need to feel confident enough to go out and get a job and reach some of the goals
they have for themselves. We will provide these women with showers, laundry, and a meal when they come to these classes. We are also planning on having multiple resource tables there, as well as case management. We want to address barriers and guide these
women back on track towards self-sufficiency and help them become functioning members of society. We are planning to have the first event on November 6th and are in need of donations and people who are willing to put up resource tables and volunteers. Thank
you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
