Subject: Homeless Coalition - Landlord Evicting Client...despite Valeo providing full funds for late rent
Hello-
We have a client who we have been working with. She came to us with a 14 day pay-or-vacate. As pare of her housing stability plan (HSP), she used the funds from her check to put towards late rent
and Valeo cut a check for the remaining amount.
The apartment states they will not accept our company check, nor will they allow us to make a payment online. They state she is required to pay with cashiers check or money order. Valeo cannot
do that, per our accounting policy.
Is there anything we can do? She has paid her portion and we are prepared with the remaining $1250. Help?
