COMMENT ON LAKEWOOD'S CDBG & HOME PROGRAMS
The city of Lakewood is amending its FY 2019 Annual Action Plan (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020) to include Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) funding. CDBG-CV funding is to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the social and economic impacts of the coronavirus outbreak. The amendment details activities the city is proposing to expend funding in order to benefit low- and moderate-income individuals.

Government support to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on our country’s housing system continues to be critical as more and more Americans face financial insecurity. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) have taken steps to address COVID-19, including mandating the halt of all foreclosures and evictions of single family homeowners with FHA-insured mortgages, requiring FHA Multifamily program participants to cease evictions of tenants for non-payment of rent for 120 days, and rolling out new mortgage payment relief options for both single family and multifamily borrowers.

PIERCE COUNTY NOFA FOR COVID-19 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROGRAM
The funding provided through this solicitation is to address the COVID-19 crisis in Pierce County. The priority is to support temporary housing needs for people experiencing homelessness who are impacted by COVID-19.
Applications are due September 30, 2020, or until funds are expended. Submit applications by 4:30 pm on April 8, 2020, to be considered for the first round of funding.

PIERCE COUNTY REQUEST FOR INTEREST - 1406 HOUSING DOLLARS
Affordable housing will be even more important in post-COVID-19 Pierce County. Local funding is critical to address the affordable housing challenges ahead.
The purpose of the RFI is to generate a list of proposed affordable housing projects that will inform both the City of Tacoma and Pierce County in planning their 1406 affordable housing sales tax funds.
In coordination with City of Tacoma and the OnePierce Resiliency Fund, Pierce County is pleased to release a Request for Interest (RFI) in local affordable housing funding. The RFI only requires submission of a cover sheet and a five page excel workbook that asks only the basic information on the project. The excel workbook is the same version used by the State Housing Trust Fund for their Stage 1 application.
Cover sheet and pre-application are due by 4:30 pm on June 12, 2020. All materials can be found on the Pierce County Human Services website.
