In the meantime, please know that MDC’s shelter at Bethlehem Baptist Church accepts single women, in addition to families.

Captain Kyna, I know you are an advocate of this gal. Are eligibility decisions not done at the local level? How can we as a coalition advocate to have the background policy become less stringent?

A ten-year old misdemeanor seems an unfortunate and inappropriate obstacle to sheltering a homeless person. What was the misdemeanor?
Would the Salvation Army leadership please explain why this obstacle continues to apply after ten years without more recent criminal charges?
